top 100 companies named to the 6th Annual Aggie 100 honoring the fastest-growing companies in the world, owned or operated by Texas A&M University former students. JB Knowledge was recognized as number 31 on the list with a growth rate of 38.25%. The Aggie 100 honors graduates from across disciplines and is a program of the Center for New Ventures and Entrepreneurship in Texas A&M University’s Mays Business School.
JB Knowledge is an information technology solutions firm specializing in the construction, real estate, insurance and risk management sectors. JB Knowledge has provided IT consulting, custom software and applications, website design and development, and outsourcing services to companies worldwide since 2001. In addition, the company has developed two industry leading software products. SmartBidNet, a construction bid invitation and management solution, is used by hundreds of commercial general contractors across North America to streamline the preconstruction process. JB Knowledge’s newest product, SmartCompliance, a document and work flow management solution, is helping the insurance and risk management industry go paperless and maintain compliance with regulatory bodies.
“We started JB Knowledge when I was a senior at A&M, just an ambitious student hoping to provide high quality IT solutions to small and medium-sized businesses. I’m not sure where I expected it to go. It was and still is, long hours, constant learning, bringing in clients and asking a lot of my employees and myself. Everything I learned from my family and from Texas A&M, especially the Corps of Cadets, continues to help me and my team get through the ups and downs of small business life. To be recognized with an Aggie 100 award by the very people who taught me how to work hard and with integrity is an honor,” says JB Knowledge President James Benham.
The 100 Aggie-owned or managed companies with the highest compound annual revenue growth from 2007 to 2009 were recognized at a formal luncheon at Texas A&M University on Friday, October 22, 2010.
“The Aggie 100 demonstrates the leadership and work ethic Texas A&M instills in its Former Students,” said Dr. Richard H. Lester, Executive Director of the Mays Business School’s Center for New Ventures and Entrepreneurship. “We are extremely proud that our Aggie 100 list proves that good businesses can and do continue to grow throughout challenging economic times while staying true to the Aggie Code of Honor.” (The Aggie Code of Honor: Aggies do not lie, cheat or steal or tolerate those who do.)
